Side Gusseted pouches 

The most common type of coffee pouches are side gusseted ones, which have gussets on the left and right sides and two flat panels on the front and back. 


The main artwork, branding, and graphic design elements are centred on the flat panels on the front and back.

On store shelves, the front panel faces outward, towards anyone coming down the aisle. Typically, the back panel features words that explains the food, contains nutritional data, and carries the same branding as the front of the pouch.


The side gusseted pouches expand in volume when filled with product giving it additional volume and space.


The design of the gusset enables the pouch to be standing while placed on the flat surface of the shelves making it visually appealing to the customers.

Pillow pouches are most commonly used for potato chips packaging and also for a number of other products. 


Why are these pouches called pillow pouches exactly? Well, because they resemble a pillow when filled with the product.

They are usually made out of a single layer of flexible packaging material, and they are sealed on three sides leaving one side open for the purpose of filling and sealing.

Centre seal pouches are centre sealed or centre folded bags that have a single seam along its centre which gives it two compartments. And these are filled through the top end for filling the product before sealing.
